Default Keep Eternal Aura

The title says it all. I'm going to make this as sweet as possible so listen out. With the addition of eternal aura, my dervish has become fun to play again. I dont know whether its the skill alone or whether its playing in Cantha after a while or both, but my dervish has becom really fun to play again.

Now i know you people at arena net are tempted to push that red button with the words nerf written all over it. Yes you too gaile, even if you dont control skill changes, i know your dreaming about sitting on the Dwarven throne at THK while watching the worlds biggest congo line do circles around the fort.

Some people will say its over powered... so what? This is PVE were talking about. A little overpowering never hurt anybody and heck makes the game better. PvP players dont have to worry since they cant even use the skill.

Besides when was the last time you could have constant balthazar up and race your friends half way across Bukdek byway before realizing mhenlo and cynn aren't following you?

So please A-Net, when you read this small post, please dont nerf or "Balance" the skill

I feel that the rest of the PvE only skills will suffer the same fate as Intensity and Elemental Lord.

I don't think anyone has ever complained about Eternal Aura.

Nah they were too busy complaining that Cry of Pain just wasn't good enough.

Why bother with this skill.... its not exactly awesome. It gives you an infinite duration on Avatars, thats about its only major use. Grenths has no real use in PvE. Melandru's was more useful before they nerfed its health gain. Balthazaars isn't great either for anything but running (the main source of abuse for this skill i guess). Lyssa/Dwayna/Balth only have a 25 second downtime if you switch to a +4 Mysticism hood before using it. Its really not overpowered... it doesn't cause mobs to disintegrate before your very eyes like Cry of Pain does.

it was nice for the day when the critical-whatnot sin skill wasn't essentially sin only. aoe holy damage 33% faster was really nice while it lasted. tb 4 seconds isn't long enough to run between targets though. the only real affect of constant balth was not stressing the timing and just keeping it up like an attunement.

it's pretty obviously anet's way of saying, "people aren't using enough form skills," so the only reason they'd change it now would be because, "people haven't started using form skills," or, "people noticed some non-form skills that we don't want to have a 10 second recast." i can't think of any off the top of my head but i don't really keep dervish skills there.

i just wish they'd do something about, "never use this skill at all" or whatever the sunspear ranger thing is called. that one looks way better than it is...and it didn't really look all that good to begin with. maybe take out the pet requirement or something.

Someone did but a lot of people argued against him (including me )

Actually I've noticed a few posts asking for a small nerf to those skills.

Hmm maybe I'm on Guru too much.

I would think that Aura is one of the safest ones in terms of nerfing, because it is already tied to the class (only recharges Derv skills). That said, I wouldn't put it past them to nerf it, but I'm really hoping they don't.

i think that this skill is the only fine skill (doesnt need buff/nerf) as avatars should be ininite however this screws up pvp to much... just my 2 cents.

really i dont like the aspect of a infinate god mode because it seems against lore but w.e its not really imbalanced if it begins to be abused in builds then i am all for killing it

I don't think there is any reason to fear a nerf coming to Eternal Aura. Avatars have shortened durations almost for the sole purpose of PvP. I think the reason that they nerfed Crit Agility was because Dervishes with constant avatars and a constant 33% IAS was overpowered, but their change to Crit Agil was fair and has neither crippled nor left the dervish over powered.

Intensity and Eternal Aura were nerfed because Elementalists were already considered the PvE damage dealer powerhouses and giving too much of a buff just left other classes way behind in the dust. Until Dervishes become so powerful that people start taking groups that consist largely of dervishes into elite missions and DoA like they currently do with eles, there really is nothing to worry about.

I didn't see anyone complaining about it, but both that and the factions PvE skill are overpowered so I think they should be nerfed

Eternal Aura was what I needed to really even consider the avatars in PvE. If anything, anet's probably going to hit the recharge to 45 or something, but even then it wouldn't really matter.

Why do people seem to be bringing PvP into this debate?
Did they change it so the PvE skills are now able to be used in PvP?

It doesn't matter, PvE and PvP aren't the same.

Eternal Aura, is an awesome skill for PvE. And with the avatars not really being that god like, its a perfect addition.

What exactly was wrong with Avatars before? I had no problem with them...

Because a non-elite, un-nerfed RaO is so horrible, that I can thump with earthshaker or reaper's strike and still have a ton of energy for spamming more attacks. Heck you can even barrage with the thing.

Just give it some more time. It took them two months to come up with these skills (seriously, what did they do those 2 months? "Milk coming out of my nose, chhhr, chrhrrr" Discussions?).
Nerf is coming, and it is coming "soon" how they love to put it.
